Printing
At Diyar, we encourage our employees working at our headquarters to minimize the use of paper, and to always place excess papers in the designated recycling bins available in all our offices.
In addition, our IT specialists have set all Diyar Al Muharraq’s printers to print on both sides in black and white colors only, unless required otherwise. Printing is also limited to absolutely necessary documents such as contracts, maps, and artworks.

Sustainable Infrastructure
In addition to being environmentally friendly, Diyar Al Muharraq goes above and beyond in investing in sustainable infrastructure and has emerged as a key contributor to the economic and social development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
We follow the award-winning mixed-use development structure founded on environmental and socio-economic sustainability which covers a range of crucial aspects such as networks, energy, transportation, sanitation, irrigation, and landscape, enabling us to provide a safe, green lifestyle for our residents while making a significant contribution to the global decarbonization process.
Additionally, we work towards extensively cutting back on the use of materials and reducing our carbon footprint throughout our projects, from construction to completion.
Tips from Diyar Al Muharraq to Go Green: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
1- Print Mindfully
The best way to go about reducing printing is to only print documents you absolutely need to have as a hard copy. If not, contracts can be sent and signed digitally to minimize carbon footprint.
2- Use a Reusable Eco-Friendly Water Bottle
Seeing as tap water isn’t treated to be safe to drink in the Kingdom of Bahrain, combined with the warm weather we enjoy throughout most of the year, bottled water sales are high. Unfortunately, this increases our use of plastic per household, and many of these water bottles end up polluting the ocean. Try purchasing water in large bottles, and invest in a portable water bottle that is reusable, taking it with you wherever you go.
3- Use Environmentally Friendly Shampoo
Various shampoos and conditioners contain various environmentally toxic ingredients and chemicals that get washed down the drain and end up polluting our oceans, harming its biodiversity. Try opting for non-synthetic ingredients when buying shampoo, which will give you healthier hair and keep the environment safe.
4- Buy Biodegradable Products
Biodegradable products dissolve through contact with bacteria and fungi, preventing environmental harm as they decompose naturally. Other plastic products take hundreds of years to decompose, threatening wildlife and spreading toxins in the process.
5- Recycle your Day-to-Day Waste at Work
It is a simple task, yet many of us tend to forget. Make it a habit to use the recycling bins available at your office in order to reduce your waste. If you do not have designated recycling bins at your office, take the initiative and suggest it to the appropriate department.
6- Investing in Electronic Devices
Technology has given us a wide range of products that enable us to save and reduce paper waste. If you enjoy reading, consider replacing your physical books with devices in the likes of Kindle. They are easier to carry around and help reduce the use of paper.
