Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the largest real estate development companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently participated in the National Genome Project at its Manama headquarters, wherein Diyar’s employees participated as volunteers in the National campaign. This comes in line with Company’s ethos to offer its ongoing support to contributing to the development of key industry sectors, particularly the medical and healthcare industries.
At the 2019 Government Forum, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the launch of the National Genome Centre, which would provide a DNA database for citizens. Interpreting and analysing the data will significantly contribute to improving the diagnosis, early detection, in addition to the extent of individual’s susceptibility to infection.
Commenting on the occasion, Eng. Ahmed Ali Alammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, said, “We would like to express our pride and appreciation of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister’s directives in improving the health of citizens. We would also like to laud the Ministry of Health’s efforts in launching the National Genome Centre, which further cements its position as a leading centre across countries in the region by effectively providing an interactive platform for manufacturing samples to be used in exploratory studies and research.”
